FAQs

Q?

What kind of equipment can be tracked?

A.

The Meerkat platform can track different kind of GSE, motorized and non motorized. The platform is also able to track people and other assets. Any asset that need to be tracked must be provided by a transponder (GPS, RFid tag, Wi-Fi tag,…).

Q?

What is the tracking and position precision?

A.

The tracking and localization precision depend on the transponder device. With GPS transponder the precision is around 5 meters and the tracking position can be detected with a frequency starting from every second. With sophisticated transponder based on UWB (ultra wide band) the precision is around 50 cm and the position can be detected with a high frequency (meni time per second).

Q?

How is the software architecture?

A.

The software architecture can be deployed in a cloud base or in a client server architecture. In a standard configuration there is a server component and the software con run on any client with a standard internet browser (explorer, firefox, crome,…)

Q?

The Meerkat platform can be integrated in existing Information Systems?

A.

Meerkat is an open architecture and completly developed by Eximia. This characteristics enable any customization and integration/communication with the customer ERP or information system.

Q?

How many assets can be managed and tracked?

A.

There is no limit to the quantity of tracked asset, Meerkat can handle small quantities starting from 10-100 asset to huge quantities fro 1.000 to 100.000 assets.

Q?

The Meerkat solution includes also the transponders?

A.

Yes, Eximia provide also the hardware. Different kind of transponder are available from GPS to RFid. Normally Eximia provide the transponders and assist the customer for the installation procedures

Q?

How transponders communicate with the Meerkat platform?

A.

Depends on the kind of transponders. GPS transponders communicate trough the GSM/GPRS data network, RFid transponder communicate via RFid reader/gates, Wi-Fi transponder trough the TCP/IP network infrastructure.
